Save Money, Eat Less Fast Food

Americans are spending more on fast food with each passing year. This is partially due to a nearly 50% increase in the price of fast food but is mainly a result of Americans eating fast food an average of 2 to 3 times per week. In fact, at least one-fourth of Americans eat fast food every day! Every time you eat fast food you are contributing the $11 billion industry. The reality is fast food is marked up, sometimes by 1200%! Eat less of it, and you'll save money.

Save Money, Join a Carpool

One of the easiest (and most overlooked) ways to save money is by carpooling. Despite the absurd price of gasoline, it is believed than approximately three out of four cars have a single inhabitant in them at any given time. With many Americans spending around $200 a month on gas, think of all the money you would save if you could split that cost with three or four other people. Join a carpool, and you'll be amazed at the unexpected extra money you'll have.

Save Money, Turn Off Your Heat and AC

Heating and related utility bills can run up to four figures annually. There is hope, as heating and cooling bills can be greatly reduced. Many have found that the best way to do this is by turning off your heating and cooling unit while you sleep. By decreasing usage by 6 to 8 hours a day you will save a lot of money. Other tips, such as opening windows instead of turning on the air conditioner and opening up the oven after you've cooked during the winter months, also help.
